About Music in Motion Films
My name is Dan Thress and I am the owner of Music in Motion Films. You may know my name from some of the other books in your music library including: The Art of Bop Drumming, Beyond Bop Drumming, New Orleans Jazz and Second Line Drumming, West African Rhythms for Drumset, Afro-Cuban Rhythms for Drumset, Brazilian Rhythms for Drumset, Funkifying The Clave and Airto Moreira: Rhythms and Colors/Listen and Play.
You may also own some of the videos that I worked on with Dennis Chambers, Airto, Earl Palmer, Jack Bruce, Giovanni, Herlin Riley, Peter Erskine, Johnny Vidacovich, Gary Husband, Jose Luis Quintana, Lincoln Goines and Robby Ameen. These were all fantastic projects to be a part of and I am still digesting what I have learned from these great musicians.
To carry on the tradition of these great projects in a non-compromising way, I decided to start my own publishing company so I could focus on specific projects and artists that I felt were culturally important. This label is my humble effort to carry on these traditions.
I hope you enjoy our products and find them useful to finding your own voice.
Let me know what you think!
